This is not a surround sound system - it isn't advertised to be. This system provides a great sound enhancement for the flat screen tv that generally has inadequate speakers on its own. A good buy for the price - I am extremely pleased with it. It just provides a fuller sound experience without having to run wires around for a home theater system. Good bass tone and the mids and highs are greatly enhanced over my Samsung TV speakers. The system was easy to hook up as well.
I suppose your hard core audio file, home theater person would look for more but for your average person this is GREAT. It adds a great dimension not just to TV and music but also to our Wii system and the price was great. It may not duplicate a customary five speaker + subwoofer system exactly but it is close. It is easy to set up, simple in design with out the clutter and wires all over.
Also, the remote receiver is located on the soundbar itself, so you don't have to worry about pointing the remote at the subwoofer which is where all the connections are located. I will try to post some photos of my setup soon. This is the perfect soundbar sound system for my master bedroom. All of the other soundbar systems were either too expensive or were missing HDMI inputs/outputs. I get all my electronics from Amazon since I am an Amazon Prime member and can't be happier. This made my system look very seamless with a custom look. It's definitely great for a small to medium sized room.
Overall, I am very very happy with my purchase. Now if you have a Sony Bravia TV with other Sony products, the included should be able to handle those without an additional remote.
I was able to find the perfect soundbar bracket to mount the speaker under my TV [.]. I went with the inexpensive route and purchased a refurbished Logitech Harmony 659 which is about $60.
I have a 42" 120Hz LCD TV that is wall-mounted, and I needed something to enhance the sound in my bedroom. The things I would recommend when purchasing this sound system are to have plenty of HDMI 1.3 cables handy (4 to be exact), and if you have different brands of electronics, a programmable universal remote control.
Thanks for reading. Then I stumbled upon this gem which is able to handle 3 HDMI inputs, 3 optical audio inputs, 1 coaxial audio input, 1 composite audio input, 1 Sony DM Port (for onscreen IPod controls/sound), and 1 HDMI output to your television.
I have my digital cable box, Blu-Ray player, and Home Theater PC hooked up to the Sony HTCT100, and it sounds great.
theater quality for small price this was a smokin deal best price available, quick delivery ,if you buy get hdmi cables and digital coaxial cords.
would do again for sure. I didn't want to get too crazy of an add-on sound system and this worked well for me. The price puts it from 4 to 5 stars. Looks nice to me. Very good price for the sound & quality of the unit. Easy hook-up with the Braiva via hdmi.
